Kyrgyzstan inflation ranks highest in CIS

Kyrgyzstan has the highest rate of inflation among the Commonwealth of Independent States, the news agency Rosbalt reported referring to the CIS Intergovernmental Statistics Committee.

Tajikistan has the highest rate of inflation in yearly terms in January-September, 2008 among CIS countries- 30.8 percent. Kyrgyzstan has 26.8 percent, Ukraine – 26.2 percent, Azerbaijan- 21.5 percent, Kazakhstan – 19.2 percent, Belarus – 14.9, Moldova and Russia – 14.2 percent. The lowest index of consumer prices is registered in Armenia- 9.5 percent.

The inflation data of Georgia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is not available.
