Parliament ratifies Tajik-Chinese agreement to avoid double taxation

DUSHANBE, November 27, Asia-Plus  — The lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament has ratified the Tajik-Chinese agreement to avoid double taxation.

A regular sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation, presided over by its chairman, Saydullo Khairulloyev, was held on November 26.

Speaking at the session, Khairulloyev noted that ratification of the agreement would promote further expansion of trade and economic cooperation with China and “improvement of investment climate in both countries.”

Relevant Tajik ministries and organizations expect a two-day trade between Tajikistan and China to have been estimated at 400 million US dollars by the end of this year, the speaker noted.

MPs also considered and endorsed amendments to laws on the status of members of the GBAO, regional, city and district legislatures (Majlis), provision of uniformity of measurements, national backlog and archive institutions, and geodesy and cartography.
