DUSHANBE, December 17, 2008, Asia-Plus — In Tajikistan, inflation for January-November 2008 stood at 12.65 percent, which is 0.45 percent lower compared to the January-October 2008 level, when inflations stood at 13.1 percent, according to the Sate Committee for Statistics.
Over the report period, a monthly inflation rate in consumer’s sector has amounted to 1.15 percent, which is 0.51 percent lower than in January-November 2007.
Prices of food products rose 14.2 percent in eleven months to December 1. Prices of nonfoods and paid service rendered to the population have risen over the report period 5.4 percent and 21.2 percent respectively.
The cost of the set of food products included in the consumer basket for actual consumption in prices as of the end of November 2008 was 89.57 somoni (equivalent to more than $26.30) per one family member per month, and with the norm for a balanced diet it was 173.88somoni (some $51.00).
