DUSHANBE, December 19, 2008, Asia-Plus — The sixth session of the Tajik-Belarus intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation concluded in Dushanbe yesterday afternoon.
The session resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement, according to press service of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
Yesterday, the CCI head Sharif Said held talks with Alexander Fedorchuk, director general of the Minsk branch of Belarus’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The two discussed ways to ensure further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different fields, including industrial and agrarian sectors, as well as cooperation between the chambers of the two countries.
Tajikistan currently imports various transportation vehicles and tractors, furniture, sugar and other products from Belarus, while Belarus is interested in aluminum, cotton, fruit and vegetables supplies from Tajikistan, the press service said.
