DUSHANBE, April 21, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday April 21, President Emomali Rahmon accepted credentials from Romanian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, Mr. Emil Repca, according to presidential press service.

In the course of the talks, President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan was interested in expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation with the East Europe countries, including Romania.

For his part, Ambassador Repca noted that Tajikistan was reliable partner for his country in the Central Asian region.

The sides also discussed issues related to establishment of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Romania in sectors like hydropower engineering, agriculture, development of natural resources in Tajikistan, furniture manufacturing and processing of fruits and vegetables.

Romanian diplomat noted that Romania’s minister of economy and commerce, heading a delegation of Romanian entrepreneurs, would arrive in Tajikistan in the near future to discuss establishment of economic contacts, the press service said.
