DUSHANBE, July 21, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s large industrial enterprises are expected to work in thee shifts during the season of enough power supplies.

This issue was among major topics of a July 20 meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, according to presidential press service.

The meeting participants included senior representatives from the government ad president’s office as well as heads of a number of ministries and organizations.

Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, in particular, reported on the pace of renovation and reconstruction of facilities in Gorno Badakhshan.

As it had been reported earlier, the prime minister visited Gorno Badakhshan on July 17-19 to get acquainted with the pace of construction of facilities that should be finished by the next National Unity Day that will be marked in Gorno Badakhshan on June 27, 2010.

Speaking at the meeting, President Rahmon charged relevant government bodies to ensure work of large industrial enterprises in three shifts during the season of enough electricity supplies.

He also pointed to the necessity of taking all adequate measure to gather grain crops in time, ensure implementation of the national budget, opportune payment of wages, pensions and allowances, as well as regular work of the country’s economy during autumn-winter 2009-2010.

The president, in particular, demanded at the meeting that necessary stocks of coals and food products should be made for the winter period and implementation of the projects for construction of the Shar-Sahr tunnel and rehabilitation of the highway Qurghon Teppa-Dusti-Nizhny Panj and a number of other investment projects should be ensured at proper level, the press service said.

Rahmon also charged to control the process of nationwide switch to energy-saving light bulbs and provide all education and medical facilities with fuels for the winter period.
