Tajik business associations discuss entrepreneurial activity improvement program

DUSHANBE, July 31, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A meeting of the Coordination Council of Business and Public Associations of Tajikistan that was held in Dushanbe yesterday reelected Nekrui Zabirov to head the Coordination Council.

The program, Improvement of Entrepreneurial Activity – 200 Days of Reforms, endorsed by the Tajik government in early July, was the focus of the meeting.

During the meeting it was decided to divide the Coordination Council members into working groups for promotion of implementation of this program.

The meeting also approved candidacies of three members of the Council – Izatullo Lalbekov, the head of the Association of Banks of Tajikistan, Zayd Saidov, the head of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Commodity Producers of Tajikistan, and Nekrui Zabirov, the head of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Exporters of Tajikistan – to the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of Tajikistan.

The meeting also adopted the regulation for the Coordination Council and endorsed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between business associations of Tajikistan.  

Established in December 2007, the Coordination Council of Business and Public Associations of Tajikistan groups currently 28 associations and aims to promote consolidation of their efforts to improve the business environment in the country.
