KHUJAND, September 15, 2009, Asia-Plus — 12 of 16 cotton-ginning factories in the Sughd province have already been made ready for receiving raw cotton, while the remaining four cotton ginneries require major repairs, Otabek Hojiyev, a chief specialist at the procurement department within the Sughd agriculture directorate, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, a special commission has been set up for formal acceptance of those four cotton-ginning factories after major repairs.
“Meanwhile, cotton-ginning factories in Asht, Konibodom and Zafarobod districts have already begun receiving raw cotton for processing,” Hojiyev said.
