DUSHANBE, September 15, 2009, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Tajik transportation police directorate seized more than 3.5 kilograms of narcotics in Dushanbe yesterday, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
An operation by the transportation police led to the arrest of the 50 year-old resident of Dushanbe Aziz Rahimov on September 14. More than 2.8 kilograms of heroin and more than 770 grams of raw opium were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Rahimov and an investigation is under way, the source said.
