DUSHANBE, October 20, 2009, Asia-Plus — A meeting of heads of Central Asian law enforcement agencies and special services, formally titled “Germany and Central Asia – Cooperation in Providing Security,” is scheduled to take place in Dushanbe from November 2-3.
According to the German Embassy in Dushanbe, senior representatives from Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office as well as chiefs of aw enforcement agencies and special services of Afghanistan and Pakistan have also been invited to attend the meeting, dedicated to consider issues to promote interaction between special services in combating international terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking.
The meeting organizers include the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), the Ministry of Interior and the Drug Control Agency of Tajikistan and the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany, the source said.
