ISFARA, February 8, 2010, Asia-Plus  — An arms cache containing two RGD-5 hand grenades, 8 smoke pots, three scope sights for hand grenade launcher, one scope sight for sniper rifle, 700 bullets of assault rifle Kalashnikov as well as tent, subversive literature and devices and substances for preparing explosives has been discovered in the Muldon area, the Shahrak jamoat in Sughd’s Isfara district.

The arms cache was discovered by officers from the Isfara security department.  “According to the preliminary data, the cache could belong to an extremist group, four members of which were killed in Isfara last October; the Isfara prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings and an investigation is under way,” the source said.

We will recall that the Isfara law enforcement officers killed four Islamist militants and captured one in a gunfight that took place in the city of Isfara on October 18, 2009.
