DUSHANBE, February 8, Asia-Plus — Abboskhouja Yahyokhojayev, the self-propelled candidate for a seat in the Sughd regional legislature (Majlis) from Isfara constituency # 14, has been dropped out of the pre-election race after a number of false signatures have been found in a list of signatures of his supporters.
According to the Islamic Revival Party’s (IRPT) head office in Dushanbe, the regional electoral commission checked the list of signatures submitted by Yahyokhojayev following an application by the IRPT regional organization in northern Tajikistan.
“While checking the list of signatures, the commission found out that only 97 of 438 signatures proved to be true,” the source said.
