DUSHANBE, February 11, 2010, Asia-Plus — Center Gunim at Al Mansouri University, Egypt jointly with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) expressed readiness to provide assistance to Tajikistan with raising professionalism of its medical workers.

This issue was reportedly discussed at a meeting of Minister of Health Nusratullo Salimov with Ambassador Samah Sotohi, General-Secretary of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the CIS, in Dushanbe on February 9.

To raise their qualification Tajik specialists will take training courses in Saudi Arabia, the source at the Ministry of Heath (MoH) said.  Besides, specialists from Saudi Arabia will be invited to conduct training for Tajik medical workers in Tajikistan, he added.

The sides also discussed the issue of organizing practical training for Tajik specialists in kidney and liver transplantation in Saudi Arabia in order to provide such special medical services in Tajikistan, the source at MoH said.

Ambassador Samah Sotohi was on a working visit to Tajikistan on February 7-9.  the purpose of the visit was for him to discuss cooperation issues with Tajik officials.
