DUSHANBE, February 11, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Among 70 candidates nominated for the Dushanbe legislature (City Majlis) by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT) is also the son of President Emomali Rahmon – Rustam Emomali.

Usmon Solehov, head of the PDPT department for agitation, propaganda and work with media, told Asia-Plus that Rustam Emomali would compete for a seat in the Dushanbe legislature in constituency # 23 in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district.  “He has been nominated for election by the party organization in this district,” noted Solehov, “Rustam Emomali was elected to the PDPT Central Executive Committee at the end of last year.”

The Dushanbe legislature has 70 seats and the ruling party has nominated its candidates in all 70 constituencies.

We will recall that Rustam Emomali is head of the small and medium-sized enterprises development department within the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management also deputy head of the League of Youth of Tajikistan.
