Turkmen president to pay state visit to Tajikistan in March

DUSHANBE, February 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon yesterday afternoon had a telephone conversation with his Turkmen counterpart, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

According to presidential press service, the two exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and agreed to order their governments to develop and implement measures on expansion of bilateral cooperation in various spheres.

Rahmon invited Berdymukhamedov to pay a state visit to Tajikistan.  The invitation was accepted and the sides reached an agreement on scheduling the visit for March 18-19, 2010.
