Remittance inflows into Gorno Badakhshan show slight increase in Jan 2010

KHOROG, February 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Remittance inflows into Gorno Badakhshan reportedly showed slight increase in January this year compared to January 2009.

Last month, physical entities, primarily labor migrants, remitted 1.7 million U.S. dollars to banks in Gorno Badakhshan, which is 114,000 U.S. dollars more than in January 2009.

Remittances to branches of Agroinvestbonk in the area increased by US$127,000, remittances to Amonatbonk’s branches increased by US$14,000 and remittances to branches of the First MicroFinance Bank increased by US$1,300.

In the meantime, remittances to branches of Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB) and Orienbonk over the report decreased by US$8,000 and US$19,000 respectively.
