DUSHANBE, February 25, 2010, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday February 24, President Emomali Rahmon signed the law on amnesty for citizens and legal entities of Tajikistan in connection with legalization by them of some of their funds.

According to presidential press service, the law is aimed at improving the investment climate in the country and attracting funds of citizens and legal entities of Tajikistan for completion of the construction of the Roghun HPP.

Citizens and legal entities who will legalize their undeclared [shadow] capital as well as citizens who will transfer their funds [earned in violation of regulations governing business operations] from foreign banks to banks in Tajikistan till December 31, 2011 will be granted amnesty.
