DUSHANBE, July 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Last year, Tajikistan produced more than 1.3 million tons of cereals that allowed curbing rise in prices of the basic food product.
According to presidential press service, President Rahmon remarked this last Friday (July 16) during an address to a meeting of district administrators in Hisor. The president called on farmers to take effective measures to ensure the food security of the country.
Rahmon, in particular, noted that in January-June 2001, gross agricultural product from all categories of farms was 370 million somoni and increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year.
