DUSHANBE, July 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — The 32-year-old jobless from Sughd’s Istaravshan district, Sadoqat Boboyeva, was arrested on July 16 on suspicion of having killed her newborn daughter, according to the Sughd police directorate.
“The preliminary investigation has established that Boboyeva bore a daughter in her house on July 2 and she killed the baby the same day by throwing her in the toilet located in her house’s yard, the source said.
Criminal provisions have been instituted against Boboyeva under the provisions of Article 105 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code — mother’s murder of her baby.
Besides, the body of a newborn girl was found at one of garbage dumps in the northern city of Chkalovsk on July 15.
“Investigation has established that her mother is the 21-year-old jobless Veronika Gavrilova. Veronika bore the baby in February this year and her mother – Yekaterina Gavrilova, who has previous convictions – killed the baby and threw her body into the garbage dump,” the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Yekaterina Gavrilova under the provisions of Article 104, Part 2 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder.
