DUSHANBE, July 19, 2010, Asia-Plus — The third-year student at Tajik Islamic Institute, Karomatullo Tayfurov, won the Republic Koran Reciting Competition that concluded in Dushanbe on Monday.
As the winner of the competition, Tayfurov has got an opportunity to perform Hajj this year, the source at Tajik Islamic Institute said.
According to him, 45,000 somoni were allocated for holding the competition, which took place on an initiative of President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of proclaiming Dushanbe the Capital of Islamic Culture in 2010.
