DUSHANBE, August 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The name of the winner of the tender for delivery of equipment for the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP) is not disclosed, Ravshan Karimov, the deputy director of the Agency for State Procurement, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According him, an open tender for the delivery of equipment for the Roghun HPP took place on July 26, 2010 and six Tajik companies – Trayko, Chamshasori Somoniyon, TK Orien International, Khurshedi Khorazm, Vostok ASHTT, and Kuhdoman – took part in the tender.

“Today we cannot disclose the name of the tender winner in order to avoid problem with transiting cargo for this strategic facility,” said Karimov, “Uzbek rail authorities may hold up the cargo, you know.”

The tender winner will purchase and deliver 43 items of controlling-and-measuring cables and electric pumps to Tajikistan for 6.132 million somoni, he added.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the sale of shares in Roghun to the public that began in January this year has earned the government 819,605,306 somoni to this day.

We will recall that Tajikistan had paid Ukraine 76 million somoni for parts that it needs to complete the first two turbines of the power plant.
