KONIBODOM, August 23, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Targeted use of budgetary funds allocated for renovation of schools and preparedness of schools for winter season was the focus of a meeting of Konibodom mayor with senior representatives from local education sector that took place here at the end of last week.

The Konibodom education department chairperson, Ms. Khovarkhon Najmiddinova, told Asia-Plus that renovation of all 53 general schools and one private school functioning in the city and the district of Konibodom had been completed.  “More than 500,000 somoni have been allocated from the city budget and 256,442 somoni have been allocated from the parents associations for renovation of schools,” she said.  

575,400 somoni allocated by the Ministry of Education have been spent for construction of ten new classrooms at school # 36 and nine new classrooms at school # 33, Najmiddinova added.  Besides, local residents and entrepreneurs have collected 500,000 somoni and the Sughd regional budget has allocated 72,000 somoni.
