DUSHANBE, September 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Presentation of “The Tajiks in the Mirror of History: From the Aryans to the Samanids” by President Emomali Rahmon translated into Chinese took place in the Tajik Embassy in Beijing on September 16, according to the MFA information department.
During the presentation, Tajik Ambassador to China Rashid Olimov read the author’s address to Chinese readers.
The address, in particular, says the book tells history of civilization and statehood of my people – the Tajiks. The full version of the book in Chinese is published for the first time and it is a great event in history of Tajik-Chinese relations that have been developing rapidly since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. However, communication between our peoples covering all main spheres of spiritual and intellectual activities (religion, science, art) was conceived in ancient time already. The Great Silk Road gave an additional powerful impulse to development of political, trade and economic ties and mutual enrichment of the two civilizations…
Today Tajikistan considers China as reliable friend and the most important partner and we are interested in successful modernization and prosperity of China, Tajik leader noted in his address.
The book in Chinese contains 110,000 hieroglyphs, the MFA information department said.
The presentation ceremony was attended by reporters from international media such Xinhua and Itar-Tass, as well as China Radio International (CRI), Renmin Ribao (People’s Daily), Kazakhstan’s news agency Kazinfo and a number of China’s leading e-newspapers.
