Tajik-Russian cooperation in light industry discussed in Dushanbe yesterday

DUSHANBE, October 27, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Opportunities and prospects of further expansion Tajik-Russian cooperation in light industry were the focus of a meeting of the Russian delegation, led by the director general of the Agency for Direct Investments, Nikolai Simonyan, with senior representatives from a number of Tajik relevant ministries and organizations that took place at Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in Dushanbe on October 26, according to the CCI press service.

The Russian delegation was interested in aspects of the supply of finished products of Tajik enterprises to Russia.  They were also interested in placing orders (outsourcing) of Russian companies with enterprises in Tajikistan and investing in processing enterprises of Tajikistan’s textile and light industries, the CCI press service said.

Outsourcing is often viewed as involving the contracting out of a business function – commonly one previously performed in-house – to an external provider.  In this sense, two organizations may enter a contractual agreement involving an exchange of services and payments.

Russian entrepreneurs are here to seek business partners wanting to get into Russian market with finished product.

The same day, CCI arranged for Russian entrepreneurs a meeting with top managers of a number of enterprises of light industry of Tajikistan.

Russian entrepreneurs arrived in Tajikistan yesterday for a there-day visit and ruing their stay here, they are also scheduled to visit enterprises of light and textile industries in Dushanbe and Khujand.
