DUSHANBE, April 12, 2011, Asia-Plus — the Prosecutor-General’s office has opened an investigation into the death Colonel Saydullo Pirov, chief of the internal security department within the Ministry of Interior (MoI), under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder, the first Deputy Prosecutor-General, Abduqodir Muhammadiyev, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 12.
As it had been reported earlier, Colonel Pirov was found dead in the room at Tavhid Hotel in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province on February 5.
We will recall that the Interior Ministry spokesman Mahmadullo Asadullozoda told Asia-Plus on February 7 that Saydullo Pirov, who was in Khujand on an official business, died of a sudden cardiac arrest.
Saydullo Pirov was born in Danghara district on March 19, 1950. He took service with police in 1979 and since 1994, he had served at the Interior Ministry’s central apparatus. He was appointed to head the Interior Ministry internal security department in 2009.
