DUSHANBE, April 12, 2011, Asia-Plus — Three servicemen of one of border units deployed in Khatlon province are suspected of having been involved in drug trafficking.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), they are suspected of having been involved in the drug trafficking case detected in Dushanbe in late March.
We will recall that Interior Ministry spokesman Mahmadullo Asadulloyev told Asia-Plus that a large amount of narcotics, including 83 kilograms of hashish and 3 kilograms of heroin, were found hidden in a storehouse of the food shop, Sabina, in Dushanbe’s neighborhood # 82 on March 29. According to him, these narcotics have been transported to Dushanbe from one of border districts in Khatlon province. The store director, his brother and the storehouse manager were arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.
The source at a MoI says three servicemen of the border unit deployed in Khatlon’s Qumsangir district have been detained on suspicion of having been involved in that drug trafficking case. “The preliminary investigation has established that servicemen I.S., M.J. and U.R. sold the mentioned bulk of narcotics to the food sop owner for US$300.00,” he said.
