DUSHANBE, May 3, 2011, Asia-Plus — A family quarrel in Khatlon’s Vakhsh district involving a couple and the wife’s relatives had ended with hospitalization of several members of one family with stab wounds which had been inflicted by the husband, the source at the Ministry of Interior said.
Although the wounded persons had been rushed to the hospital soon after the incident, the mother-in-law had died of the wounds she had sustained.
“On May 2, Saidmurod Ortiqov, 28, burst into house of his farther-in-law and inflicted stab wounds on his wife, his father-in-law, his mother-in-law and his brother-in-law. After that, he attempted to commit suicide but medical workers managed to save him,” said the source.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Ortiqov and an investigation is under way.
