Parliament goes into recess

DUSHANBE, June 30, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament goes into recess beginning on July 1.

The last sitting of the second session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation before summer recess took place on June 30.

Addressing the sitting, the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov noted that the lower house of parliament has adopted 196 laws and resolutions since last autumn.

“35 of those laws have been proposed by the president, 91 laws have been proposed by the government, 35 laws have been proposed by deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon  and five laws have been proposed by members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament),” Zuhurov said.

Besides, 31 draft laws are still being considered by the Majlisi Namoyandagon committees and commissions, the speaker added.  

The summer recess of the Majlisi Namoyandagon lasts from July 1 until October 1.
