Tajik parliament speaker receives delegation of Chinese Communists

DUSHANBE, August 22, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), Shukurjon Zuhurov, met here today with a delegation of the Communist Party of China.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says Shukurjon Zuhurov and the delegation head Zhou Yongkang, who is member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, discussed a broad range of issues related to providing regional security, seeking solution to the Afghan problems as well as expanding bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the fields of energy and transportation.

The sides also expressed interest in studying and implementing projects for construction of railway links connecting the two countries, the spokesman said.
