Date:

DUSHANBE, August 23, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also deputy of the lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of Tajik parliament, has visited the Russian city of Novosibirsk to get acquainted with living and working conditions of Tajik labor migrants working there, IRP’s head office in Dushanbe reports.

“During the meeting that took place on Monday, labor migrants expressed concern over adoption of the law on holding parents responsible for their children’s action and education, which prevent underage children from attending mosques,” the IRP deputy chairman Mahmadali Hoit told Asia-Plus in an interview.  According to him, IRP will do its best to amend some provisions of the law.

“During his stay in Novosibirsk, Kabiri also met with the Novosibirsk mufti Naqib Shakirniyazov and briefed him on activities of the Islamic Revival Party,” Hoit said.

The working visit of the IRP leader to Russia is expected to conclude in early September and Muhiddin Kabiri is scheduled to meet with Tajik labor migrants working in Russia’s Far East as well as in the cities of Moscow, Samara and Perm.
