DUSHANBE, September 15, 2011, Asia-Plus – A project dedicated to intensify activity of unemployed women has been launched in Gorno Badakhshan.
The project, Social and Professional Activation of Women in Tajikistan, was launched in Khorog recently in the framework of the Poland’s Development Cooperation program under support of Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The project, which is aimed at providing employment opportunities to unemployed women of active working age, is being implemented by the Khorog-based women’s public association, Madina.
The Madina chairperson, Ms. Nabot Dodkhudoyeva, says business activity of women in Tajikistan is blocked by men who dominate the entrepreneurship sphere in the country. “Therefore, we will not only train them in how to run an economical activity, we will also help them be able to hold their own in their initiatives,” she noted.
