Majlisi Namoyandagon board considers bee-keeping bill

Date:

DUSHANBE, October 24, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered the bee-keeping bill at an October 24 meeting presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered amendments to the Constitutional laws on the Majlisi Oli (Tajik parliament) and legal status of members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) and deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon.

The bee-keeping bill and the bill requiring amendments to the country’s law on banking activity have been tabled to the agenda of the next sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that will take place in early November, Sultonov said.

We will recall that the bee-keeping bill caused lively debates in the Majlisi Namoyandagon on October 12.  The debates arose not over any fundamental issues but over linguistic inaccuracies.  The draft law was returned as requiring improvement.  The Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker harshly criticized work of the Majlisi Namoyandagon committees and commissions that had considered the draft law during several months and had not revealed those linguistic inaccuracies.
