DUSHANBE, January 9, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Zubaydullo Zubaydov held a number of meetings in Islamabad at the end of last week, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

He, in particular, met with Dr. Mohammad Aslam Khan, Director of the Department for Central Asia’s States and ECO, Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed issues related to preparations for the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA-V).  The sides expressed confidence that the Dushanbe conference would contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Similar themes figured in Tajik diplomat’s discussions were Kuwaiti and Qatari ambassadors to Pakistan, the source said.  High-ranking delegations from Kuwait and Qatar are expected to attend RECCA-V that will take place in Dushanbe in March this year.
