DUSHANBE, February 21, 2012, Asia-Plus – Officers from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) have reportedly broken up an organized crime group involved in drug trafficking.

An official source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says a special operation carried out by the drug police officers in the village of Qushteppa, Roudaki district on February 18-19 led to the arrest of four local residents aged 28 to 46.  “Nearly ten kilograms of hashish were confiscated from them,” the source noted.

Since the beginning of the year, Tajik police have reportedly seized more than 200 kilograms of narcotics.
