DUSHANBE, June 13, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday June 12, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Russia Day.

In his message of congratulations, Rahmon, in particular, noted that Tajikistan attached significance to relations with the Russian Federation and highly appraised the reached level of strategic partnership between the two nations, Tajik president’s official website said.

Tajik leader also expressed confidence that a new impulse will be given to further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries due to joint efforts. 

Russia Day is the national holiday of the Russian Federation, celebrated on June 12. It has been celebrated every year since 1992. The First Congress of People”s Deputies of the Russian Federation adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic on June 12, 1990.
