DUSHANBE, July 17, 2012, Asia-Plus — Visiting group of members of the European Parliament (MEPs) yesterday visited the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan.
Tajik drug control chief Rustam Nazarov and MEPs reportedly discussed issues related to providing technical assistance to Tajikistan’s bodies engaged in countering drug trafficking and training of personnel for them.
In the course of the talks, the DCA director briefed MEPs on the current drug situation in Tajikistan and the region as a whole. He highly appraised cooperation between European Union and Tajikistan in strengthening border control, the DCA press center said.
On the same day, visiting MEPs met with Tajik researchers and got acquainted with their works on rational use of water resources in the region, the source said.
