DUSHANBE, January 18, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday January 16, Tajik Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali met here with Mr. Xian Ji Yuan, Vice President of China Global New Technology Imp. & Exp. Co., LTD, the main investor in Tajik-Chinese joint venture, The Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoI) press center.

The sides discussed construction of the second technological line that will increase the ore-dressing plant’s annual capacity to 2 million tons.

They also considered issues related to construction of metallurgical workshop in the city of Istiqlol (formerly Taboshar) and ways to increase the enterprise’s export potential.

In the course of the talks, Tajik minister pointed to the necessity of speeding up exploration operations at the Zarnisor (formerly Altyn-Topkan) deposit.

The Zarnisor enterprise was established on the basis of The Tajik-Chinese Mining Company in 2007.

Last year, the enterprise reportedly produced more than 23,400 tons of lead powder and more than 37,300 tons of zinc powder for a total amount of 320.9 million somoni.
