KHUJAND, February 5, 2013, Asia-Plus  — A physician from the central city hospital in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province has been detained on suspicion of fraud.

According to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province, B.T., a physician with the Khujand central city hospital, was caught red-handed when he was taking 300.00 USD from local resident I.B. for certificate of exemption from military service for health reason.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against B.T. under the provisions of Article 247 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud.
