Rahmon sends condolences to Obama over Texas explosion

DUSHANBE, April 19, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has extended condolences to U.S. President Barack Obama over a fatal fertilizer plant explosion in the U.S. state of Texas.

Rahmon also asked to convey his sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims.    

The explosion that happened on Wednesday reportedly devastated the West Fertilizer Company, about 32 kilometers north of Waco, in central Texas.  Fourteen people were killed and more than 200 injured in the explosion.  Dozens of homes were leveled and other buildings – including a school and nursing home a few hundred meters from the plant – were badly damaged.
