DUSHANBE, April 22, 2013, Asia-Plus – A new leather-processing plant is expected to be introduced into operation in Tajikistan soon.
An official source at the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) says Tajikistan-China joint venture, Tajik – Hua-Shi Tai (phonetically spelled), has built a new plant with annual capacity of processing 150,000 skins in the Vahdat Township, some 17 kilometers east of Dushanbe.
“The enterprise is expected to be introduced into operation in early May,” the source said, noting that the enterprise will create 30 new jobs.
According to the statistical data of a MoEI, local leather-processing plants have processed 228,000 skins over the first quarter of this year, which was 43 percent more than in the same period last year.
