Tajik public servants now subject to mandatory rotation

DUSHANBE, April 24, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) today endorsed the bill requiring amendments to the country’s Labor Code without discussions.

Presenting the bill, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Mr. Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov, noted that the bill provided for mandatory rotation of government officials.  “This measure is aimed at countering corruption in the country,” the minister said.

He further added that the category of government officials subject to rotation and terms of offices would be determined by the government.
