Kazakhstan expected to provide military and technical assistance to Tajikistan

Date:

DUSHANBE, November 25, 2013, Asia-Plus – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarabyev signed the law on ratification of the government-to-government agreement between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on providing no-strings military and technical assistance to Tajikistan this past week.

The government-to-government agreement between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on providing no-strings military and technical assistance to Tajikistan was signed here on April 15, 2013.

Under this agreement, Kazakhstan reportedly hands over defense materials (bullets, hand grenades and gun oil) without compensation to Tajikistan.

The defense materials will be shipped to Tajikistan by transport planes of Kazakhstan’s Air Force.

Under Article 5 of this agreement the Tajik side does not have the right to hand over the defense materials received from Kazakhstan to the third side.
