DUSHANBE, November 28, 2013, Asia-Plus — Kyrgyz Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev has congratulated Qohir Rasoulzoda over his appointment as Prime Minister of Tajikistan.
In his message of congratulations posted on Kyrgyz government’s official website on November 28, Satybaldiyev, in particular, noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches significant importance to further expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan.
Kyrgyz prime minister expressed hope to meet with new Tajik prime minister at the 12th session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
We will recall that by president’s decree published on November 23 Qohir Rasoulzoda, formerly governor of the Sughd Province, was appointed Prime Minister, replacing Oqil Oqilov, who has been Prime Minister since 1999.
It should be noted that the post of prime minister in Tajikistan is purely technical in nature and the president is formal head of the government.
