that was published in October 2013 notes that to date in FY13–14, the World Bank has approved seven projects with a total commitment of US$142 million for Tajikistan.
These reportedly include the Tax Administration Reform Project (US$18 million) and the Programmatic Development Policy Grant (PDPG6) (US$20 million) that were fully funded using country allocation of the International Development Association (IDA) resources.
A mixture of IDA country allocation funds and Trust Fund resources were used for the Second Public Employment for Sustainable Agriculture and Water Management Project (PAMP2) (US$46 million) and Health Services Improvement Projects (HSIP) (US$23 million).
The Environmental Land Management and Rural Livelihoods Project (US$17 million), Global Partnership for Education-4 Project (US$16 million), and Tajikistan Public Sector Accounting Reform Project (US$2 million) were fully funded from the Trust Funds, saving IDA allocation for other priorities.
The total financing of these new projects stand at US$71 million from IDA, US$66 million from Trust Funds, and US$5 million from the Tajik government and local communities.
Tajikistan joined the World Bank in 1993 and the International Development Association in 1994.
As of September 2013, the active portfolio of the World Bank consisted of 12 projects with a net commitment of US$205.9 million. The largest share of the portfolio is in agriculture and rural development (41 percent), followed by energy (18 percent), the public sector, governance and economic policy (11 percent), health and social protection (9 percent), water (8 percent), education (8 percent), and the private sector (5 percent).
