DUSHANBE, May 15, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will visit China, Belarus and Bahrain this month.

Tomorrow, Emomali Rahmon will leave for China to attend the fourth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) that will take place in Shanghai.

Tajik leader is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 4th CICA summit, an official source at the Tajik government said.

According to Chinese media sources, at least 14 heads of government will attend this inter-governmental forum for enhancing cooperation on promoting peace, security and stability in Asia.

CICA was launched by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1992 as the first step of a four-step process that may culminate in the creation of a transcontinental “Conference on Security and Cooperation in Eurasia.”

On May 23-25, President Rahmon will pay an official visit to Belarus.  Rahmon’s visit to Belarus will result in signing of a number of cooperation documents.

On May 27-29, Emomali Rahmon will pay a state visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of Emir of Bahrain, the source said.
