President Emamali Rahman met this morning in Shanghai with the Vice-President of the China National Petrolium Corporation (CNPC), Van Dun Jen. Cooperation of the parties on oil and gas extraction was discussed during the meeting.

According to the President’s press service, the parties expressed satisfaction with the start of CNPC activities in Tajikistan, which has begun the search for oil and gas fields, and implementation of Central Asia-China gas pipeline.

It was noted that the construction of the fourth Central Asia-China gas pipeline, part of which will go through Tajikistan, will start this year.

Cooperation agreement between Tajikistan and the China National Petroleum Corporation was signed.
