DUSHANBE, June 23, 2014, Asia-Plus – The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament discussed a draft agreement between Tajikistan and NATO regarding the provision of host nation support to and transit of NATO forces and NATO personnel at a June 23 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker, Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the board also discussed a loan agreement between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for implementation of the Ravshan Electricity Substation Rehabilitation Project, a grant agreement between Tajikistan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for implementation of the Khatlon Livelihood Support Project, an agreement between Tajikistan and the IFAD on financing the Livestock and Pasture Development Project and an agreement between Tajikistan, the KfW (a German government-owned development bank) and the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT) on financing the program, Community Funds for the Promotion of Basic Education and Community infrastructure – Phase II.
The board also discussed draft laws proposing amendments to the country’s laws on the national budget for 2014, the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), meetings, demonstrations and street processions, on mail service, freedom of conscience and religious associations, parental responsibility for education and upbringing of children, Sultonov said.
