DUSHANBE, October 2, 2014, Asia-Plus — Two tremors were registered in eastern Tajikistan (Rasht Valley) yesterday, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan (CES).

The first quake occurred in the Rasht district, some 200 kilometers east of Dushanbe, at 8:12 am.  The quake was reportedly centered some 14 kilometers southwest of the Rasht administrative center.  In the epicenter, the earthquake magnitude was 5.0 on a 12-point scale, an official source at CES said.  No damage or injured was reported.

The second tremor, centered 76 kilometers northeast of Dushanbe, reportedly occurred at 9:49 pm.  In the epicenter, the earthquake magnitude was 4.5 on a 12-point scale.

4.5-magnitude tremor could be felt in the city of Roghun and the Obi Garm settlement and 2.0-magnitude tremor could be felt in Dushanbe.  No damage or injured was reported, the source said.
