DUSHANBE, December 1, 2014, Asia-Plus — Within the framework of his working tour of Russia, the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also member of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, yesterday met in Moscow with representatives of Tajik labor migrants and the Tajik Diaspora in Moscow.

“The meeting that took place at the Nour Center focused on the upcoming parliamentary elections due in late February next year,” Mahmoudjon Fayzrahmonov, a spokesman for the IRP, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, Muhiddin Kabiri called on Tajik labor migrants working in the Russian Federation to actively participate in the 2015 parliamentary elections, noting that the upcoming elections are one of key factors to stabilize the social situation in the country.

IRP leader reportedly sharply criticized a certain part of employees of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan who have done nothing for development of Tajik science and just been engaged in blackening separate political parties and religious figures.

“Answering multiple questions, Kabiri noted that changes can take place in Tajik society peacefully in the framework of the political struggle,” Fayzrahmonov said.
