DUSHANBE, December 21, 2014, Asia-Plus — On Friday December 19, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon attended a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a textile enterprise in his hometown of Danghara, Khatlon province. 

The Tajik president’s official website reports the enterprise will consist of four factories: spinning mill; weaving mill; dyeing factory; and clothing factory.   This enterprise is expected to be the largest textile enterprise in Central Asia.

This enterprise will be built with help from China and its first line is expected to be introduced into operation by October 2015.  The first line will create 600 new jobs, the source said.

A total cost of the project is more than 1.5 billion somoni and the enterprise is expected to operate in full capacity in two years.  It will manufacture more than 150 million meters of fabrics per year.
